Frequently Asked Questions
How do I reset my study progress?
Open the app → Settings → Danger Zone → Reset All Progress. This will clear all quiz history, streaks, and spaced repetition data. This action cannot be undone.
Can I use the app without creating an account?
Yes. You can use all core features as a guest — study questions, take quizzes, track your progress, and view your representatives. Creating an account adds cloud backup so your progress syncs across devices.
How do I update my location / ZIP code?
Go to Settings → Change Location. Enter your new ZIP code and the app will update your state, congressional district, and local representative information.
The app is not loading or crashing. What should I do?
Try closing and reopening the app. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall — your progress is saved locally and will be restored. For account users, your data is also backed up to the cloud. If problems continue, email us with your device model and OS version.
How many questions are on the actual USCIS civics test?
The USCIS officer asks 10 questions from the official list of 100 civics questions (128 total including location-specific variants). You must answer 6 out of 10 correctly to pass. Our app covers all questions plus supplemental material.
What is the 65/20 exemption?
Applicants who are 65 years or older and have been permanent residents for at least 20 years only need to study 20 designated questions (marked with an asterisk). Our app identifies these questions for you.
